Stanley Bonczek Jr. passed away in his sleep, peacefully at home on the evening of December 17, 2016 at 95 years of age.
Born on December 6, 1921. He was predeceased by his wife Rita and son Ronald.
Survived by four sons and their families: Raymond S., Rochester NY; David S., Macedon NY; Stephen J., Manchester CT; and Richard A. and Carol Bonczek, Pittsford NY. Nine grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren. Numerous friends and neighbors.
Stanley was a member of the "Greatest Generation." His motto was "hard work never hurt anyone." Stanley was passionate and successful in every endeavor that he ever attempted. He lived his entire life with that attitude. With a quick wit and sage advice, he was a compassionate and generous mentor and elder statesmen.
Always outdoors, Pop always had some project going on. Living in Watermill, Long Island, he had to quit school in the 6th grade to help support his family during the depression. In the 40's, needing a job, he self-taught himself to paint cars in Brooklyn, NY. Moving to Erin, NY in the 50's, Stanley learned a thing or two about farming, raising livestock, home construction, and raising sons. The 60's, 70's and 80's were spent in Rochester, NY, where he continued with his hard work ethic. Moving back to Erin, he spent the last 30 plus years, retired and working.
He was a life-long fan of all the New York sport teams, and would always have an opinion on how good or bad they were doing.
Stanley will be missed and remembered by all. The world is a better place because of him.
