John Charles Beaty

GREECE - Passed away peacefully June 19, 2018 at age 96. He was predeceased by his wife, Marie and son, John Jr. He is survived by his children, Kathleen (Richard) Shaw, Tom (Rochelle) Beaty, J. Scott (Bart) Beaty-Gray, Tim Beaty, Kevin Beaty; his nephew, Michael (Linda) Beaty; sister-in-law, Ann (Wayne) DeLaroche; grandchildren, Lori Wright, Christopher (Sarah) Beaty, Megan Beaty, Erin (Peter) Velepec, Elise (Conor) Fournier and 3 great-grandchildren.
The Beaty family was one of the original settlers of Paddy Hill in the Town of Greece. John worked for New York Life Insurance Company for over 40 years.
John and his nephew Michael Beaty made a donation of over 40 acres of wetlands to the Town of Greece to guarantee conservation of those lands
He graduated from Hilton High School and RIT. He was active in the community as a volunteer Fireman for the North Greece Fire Department, Mother of Sorrows Men's Club and Meals-OnWheels. John was a United States Army Veteran who served his country during WWII. He was a decorated Officer achieving the rank of Gunnery Seargent and Top Marksman for the 86th Black Hawk Division.
There will be a Funeral Mass held on Saturday, October 27th at 9:30 AM at Our Mother of Sorrows Church, 5000 Mt. Read Blvd. followed by a private Interment with Military honors at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
