Edward M. Bell

October 19, 1939 — January 8, 2021

Edward Meade Bell Jr, 81, of Rochester, NY, formerly of Altoona, PA, died January 8, 2021 in his home.

He was born on October 19, 1939 in San Diego, CA to the late Annie Elizabeth (Edwards) and Edward Bell Sr.
He was preceded in death by his life partner of many years, Timothy Sanford, as well as his siblings Robert E. Bell, Betty Householder, Mary Nardelli, and Winnie Guistino.

Eddie, or "Butch" as he was known to many, grew up in Altoona, PA and was a 1957 graduate of Altoona Area High School

He lived most of his adult life in Rochester, NY where he had a vibrant and close knit group of friends, as well as close family. In his younger years, he was an avid camper and water skier. He and Tim had a happy home and enjoyed the company of their canine companions.

Cooking was one of Eddie's passions (but not doing the dishes). He loved trying new recipes for friends and family. He also loved animals, reading, gardening, and musical theater. He was the life of the party and quick with a wisecrack. He was excellent at Jeopardy, loved singalongs, and loved spending time by the pool. His life was beautiful and colorful and he will be greatly missed.

Eddie is survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews, and friends. Honorable mentions include Connie Stoltz and her husband George; niece Bobbi Bell Smith; great-niece Erica Smith; and his beloved cat, Tango.

No prior calling hours. Services and interment will be held privately.
The family requests that contributions in his memory be made to Pet Pride of New York Cat Sanctuary and Adoption Center in Mendon, NY.
