David G. Schaefer 1947 - 2014
Beloved husband and father, died suddenly, Sunday, November 23, 2014. He is survived by his wife of 27 years Joan, his children Amanda and Mark, brother James and several cousins.
David was born and raised in Buffalo, NY where he graduated the University of Buffalo with his bachelor's in mechanical engineering and accepted a job offer at Eastman Kodak that spanned almost 30 years before his retirement.
David was drafted into the United States Army in 1969 and served in the 101st Airborne Division during the Vietnam War as a point-man between 1970 and 1971. He loved to ski and was on Bristol Mountain's ski patrol for a time. He also enjoyed sailing, he co-owned a sail boat and competed in races at the Rochester Yacht club calculating the upcoming wind currents to gain an advantage over other boats. Later it would be fishing that was his pastime. His love and commitment for his family showed every day. We will miss him very much.
