Rochester: Died peacefully Monday, August 16, 2010 at age 80 surrounded by his family. He is predeceased by his parents, Michael and Amanda Burke; brother, Joseph and sister, Mary. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 40 years, Marion; children, Charles (Jackie), Heather (Jason), Scott (Karyn), Lizbeth, Jeanette (Robert); grandchildren, Alexandria, Mackenzie, Reighan, Ryan, Michael, Peter "PJ", Michele, Nicholas; sisters, Yvonne (Bud) Coffey, Roberta; brothers, Michael, Pat, Charles; mother in law, Ruth Codding; brothers in law, David (Betty), Bruce (Ann) and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family from Ireland. Alfred was a retiree of the City of Rochester after 45 years of service.
The family will receive friends Friday, August 20th from 4-7 PM at the New Comer Funeral Home, 2636 Ridgeway Avenue. Alfred's Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday at 9 AM at Holy Apostle's Church, 530 Lyell Avenue. Interment, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to Hospice of Rochester Lifetime Care, 3111 Winton Road South, Rochester, NY 14623.
