Alice was a devoted wife to her husband Pat, who she met and married at the end of the Second World War and lost too early in 1986. She was a wonderful mother to her two sons and their families. Alice went to work early in life, first in her father's sweet shop and then in the factory during the war years. Later on, her wonderful warmth and personality, along with her hard working nature, made her successful in the retail industry. Whether she was working a sales counter at a downtown department store or serving customers among her beloved flowers at Phelps Florist, she was always the same friendly and down to earth Alice. She loved going to work and always wanted to be useful, even up to her final days when she never quite believed she was living in a nursing home, but always thought she was part of the staff, much to the delight of her caregivers. Despite all this activity, Alice kept her home and garden in immaculate order and was always there for Pat and the boys. There was never any doubt that her truest devotion was to her family. Alice and Pat loved music of all kinds and passed that love on to their sons. We will always remember her beautiful singing voice and lively spirit. She was a one of a kind, bona fide member of the Greatest Generation, who will be missed by all who knew her.
A Funeral Service will be held 11 AM Friday March 3, 2017 at the Creation Chapel, White Haven Memorial Park, 210 Marsh Rd., Pittsford, NY
