Allan Daniel Frank passed away on December 5, 2023, the age of 93. Allan was predeceased by the love of his life of 67 years, Mary Louise Andre Frank, son Steven, four brothers and 2 sisters.

Allan is survived by his brother Gerald (Barbara) Frank of Sheboygan, WI; son David Allan (Sue) Frank of Webster, NY, daughter Mary Leigh Frank of Rochester, NY, daughter Beth Andrea (Howard) Heffer of Irondequoit, NY, step grandson Lucas Heffer of Rochester, NY and step granddaughter Jillian Tripple of Chesapeake, VA, extra special nephews Tony Frank and Terry Frank along with many other nieces, nephews and dear friends.

Born in Sheboygan, Wisconsin on June 16, 1930, to Ella Marie Strysic Frank and Clarence Harold Frank. He was the 6th of 8 children. He graduated from Central High School with honors as the "most valuable student in Wisconsin." He attended the University of Wisconsin where he earned a PhD in human communication, which he used to teach at the University of Maryland and The State University of New York at Brockport. Allan wrote several books and articles in professional journals. He taught undergraduate and graduate classes helping hundreds of students reach their full potential.

In August of 1954 he met and fell in love with Mary Louise Andre. They were married in Sheboygan, WI on April 7, 1956. Although proud of his professional achievements, Allan regarded his marriage to "his Mary Lou" as the most significant event in his life. He called her "my light, my center, my one true love."

Allan served in the U.S. Army from 1954 - 1956 during the Korean war conflict. He was an avid long-distance bicyclist, riding across the U.S.A 2 times, through many other parts of America and parts of Canada. He was also an avid advocate for protecting the natural world and life. Allan chose to be cremated with no funeral. Anyone wishing to honor his memory can do so by joining the Nature Conservancy or by donating to support its work.

Allan loved biking, the outdoors, growing his own vegetables, reading, writing - especially poetry for Mary Lou, baseball, music, chocolate and beer! Above all else he loved Mary Lou and his children.

Allan loved his children for being so loving, kind and compassionate and left this message for them: "Know always that I loved you and want you to love and support each other, especially at the times of distress and hurting. I was proud to call you daughter and son. Always look for chances to do good in the world."

Allan's message to the rest of the loved ones he left behind: " Be kind to others; do no harm to others; and within the limits of your abilities and resources, help those in need."
Allan summarized his life as follows: " I came, I achieved, I loved and was loved and then I left." Goodbye for now.

Both Allan and Mary Lou will be reunited at their interment on their 68th wedding anniversary in Calvary Cemetery in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, April 7, 2024.
