Passed peacefully Sunday, June 11, 2017 at age 83. He was predeceased by his parents, Lena and Vincent. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 49 years, Rose; sister, Aidea (Robert) Shotts; brother, Augie; sisterin-law, Joanne (Donald) Damuth; brother-in-law, Samuel (Kathy) Cira; and many nieces and nephews. Al was a retiree of the Rochester City School District after 29 years at Madison, Charlotte and lastly with Jefferson High School.
Rose would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Hildebrandt Hospice Care Center for their kindness and compassion during Alphonso's stay.
Family will receive friends Wednesday, June 14th from 4-8 PM at the New Comer Funeral Home, 2636 Ridgeway Avenue. Al's Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday at 10AM at St. John the Evangelist Church, 2400 West Ridge Road. Interment, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
