Ana Carlota Abarca

Rochester- Ana C. Abarca, 96, passed away on Thursday, August 27, 2020.

Ana started her journey in this life when she was born in Santiago, Chile in 1924. After marrying the love of her life, Victor, and giving birth to four wonderful children, Gustavo (Carmen), Ana (Willy), Victor Jr. (Norma), and Nancy (Humberto), she later moved to Rochester, NY to help support her family's dream of a better life.

Ana was fortunate to be a caregiver to her 9 grandchildren and even to most of her great-grandchildren.

She was kind and giving to everyone she encountered. Though she came from humble beginnings, she realized the importance of sharing her blessings with others. She will be remembered by all who knew and loved her as caring, devoted and gracious.

Ana enjoyed dancing and listening to music, was a talented cook, and surprisingly played basketball in her youth.

She is continuing her after life journey in heaven with her husband of 72 years, and with her beloved mother and siblings, whom she lovingly remembered throughout her battle with Alzheimer's.

Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 2636 Ridgeway Ave., Rochester, NY 14626 on Thursday, September 3, 2020 from 5:00pm-8:00pm. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, September 4, 2020 at 9:30am. Burial will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Greece, NY.
