Rochester: Thursday, January 28th. 91 years-old. Predeceased by her parents, Galletana Ledee and Rafael Alicea; husband, Nicasio Diaz; son Rigoberto; and brothers Teofilo, Victor and Anastacio Alicea. Survived by her children, Luz Maria Holland (John), Norma Diaz, Hector Diaz, Ana Diaz, Juan Diaz (Evelyn), Monserate Diaz, Jose Rivera (Edna), Santos Rivera, Carmen VanDunk (Wesley), Andrea A. Diaz, Raymond Speller, Norma Holland Mann (Matthew), Andrea Holland, Danny Rivera (Mailaika), Bryan Rivera, Alexandra Diaz; 25 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and 5 great great grandchildren. Andrea Alicea Ledee de Diaz was born July 3, 1918 in Arroyo, Puerto Rico. She moved her family to Rochester in 1965 where she built her life as a seamstress, healer, mother and grandmother to all those who needed love – family or otherwise. Andrea was loved by many in our community; her strength, courage, laughter, love and generosity will be remembered for generations and will live on through her surviving family.
Family and friends may attend calling hours Monday 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at New Comer Funeral Home, 6 Empire Blvd. A funeral mass will be held Tuesday 10 am at St. Cecilia's Church with internment following at Irondequoit Cemetery.
