Cervini, Angelo Frank "Gilly"
Merritt Island, FL/ Rochester: Passed away on August 17, 2008 at age 89. He is survived by his loving daughter Jean Koby (Cervini), grandchildren, Kristen Koby, Garrison Koby, ReefKai O'Shea, sisters Rose Palermo, Claire (Ben) LaCorte, sisters-in-laws Charlotte Cervini and Mary Cervini and many loving nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Betty, siblings John (Felicia) Cervini, Joseph (Emma) Cervini, Theresa Cervini, Quintina (Val) Valentine, Anthony Cervini, Geno Cervini, James (Kay) Cervini, and brother-in-law Angelo Palermo. He was a decorated U.S. Army veteran, and proudly served in WWII as a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne. In WWII he participated in campaigns and battles in Europe that included Ardennes, Rome-Arno/Anzio, Sicily, Naples-Fogia, and Rhineland. In the 1930's he worked for the Civilian Conservation Corps in the western U.S. building roads and bridges. He was also a proud member of the Carpenters Union Local 85 in Rochester, New York.
Family and friends may attend calling hours 10 am – 12 noon, Saturday at New Comer Funeral Home, 2636 Ridgeway Ave. where a Funeral Service will be held at 12 noon. Gilly will be laid to rest next to his loving wife in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
