Gates: Thursday, January 6, 2011 at age 84. He is predeceased by his parents, Francesco and Rosina Gallelli; 2 brothers, Nicola and Mario Gallelli; and brother-in-law, Franco Massara. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 62 years, Maria Gallelli (Rotundo); sons, Franceso (Adelina), Filippo (Marisa), Mario Luciano (Sandra); daughters, Rosetta (Peter) Riccardi, Anna (Tony) Rosa; 12 grandchildren, Alberto Riccardi, Carmella (Massimo) Colombai, Tina Riccardi, Maria (Tony) Loiacano, Enzo Rosa, Patrizia (Anthony) Lewis, Antonio Gallelli, Maria (Terry) Masci, Alberto, Marco, Gianluca and Phillip Gallelli; 15 great-grandchildren; sisters, Maria (Napoleone) Biamonte, Antonietta (Salvatore) Ragonese, Tina Massara,sisters in law; Rosa Gallelli, Garaziella Gallelli, and many nieces and nephews and special friends.
Antonio was a loving husband, father and grandfather who loved life. He lived his life to the fullest and lived for his family. His pride were his children and grandchildren. Antonio retired from General Motors. He was born in Calabria, Italy on April 28, 1927. After having 6 kids, Antonio and his wife, Maria picked up the family from Italy and moved to Toronto where Antonio and Maria had another son. After 3 years of living in To¬ronto, they once again picked up and moved to Rochester, NY. That became their permanent home. While in Italy and Toronto, Antonio owned his own fruit and vegetable stand. In Rochester, he owned a tile store with his brother, Mario Gallelli.
The family will receive friends, Sunday, January 9th from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the New Comer Funeral Home, 2636 Ridgeway Avenue. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, January 10th, 9:30 AM at St. Theodore's Church, 168 Spencerport Road. Entombment, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Antonio's name may be directed to Alzheimer's Association, 435 E. Henrietta Road, Rochester, NY 14620.
