GATES- Barbara Jean Ott, 90, passed away on Tuesday, June 14, 2022 surrounded by the love of her family.
Barbara was born in South Bend, Indiana to the late Clarence and Edna Gschwind on December 4th 1931. She was the beloved wife to the late Walter James "Jim" Ott until his passing in 2014. Together they raised four children. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Her passion in life was her family.
She is predeceased by her beloved husband, Jim Ott, her granddaughter, Erin Prosser, and her brother, Robert Gschwind.
She is survived by her children, Debbie Prosser, Carol Ott, Doug (Tracy) Ott, and Rick (Joy) Ott, her grandchildren, Daniel Prosser, Stephanie (Mike) Tadaro Bochner, Jordan Ott, Michael (Kaylie) Ott, David (Kelsey) Ott, and Brian Ott, her great-grandchildren, Giovanni, Ava, Mike, Sophia, Olivia, and Lennon, her sister-in-law, Eleanor Metcalfe, and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 2636 Ridgeway Ave., Rochester, NY 14626 on Monday, June 20, 2022 from 4pm-7pm. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Theodores Church, 168 Spencerport Road, Rochester, NY 14606 on Tuesday, June 21, 2022 at 11:15am. Burial will be held at Holy Ghost Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Barbara's name to the Journey Home, 994 Long Pond Rd, Rochester, NY 14626.
