Rochester: November 17, 2008, at age 91. He is predeceased by his wife, Helen (Ferrari) Vella and grandson, Kenneth Anthony. He is survived by his son, Anthony "Tony" Vella; daughter, Marianne (Dennis) Anthony; grandchildren, Dennis and Todd Anthony, Nicole (Philip) Gruttadauria, Regina (Brian) Knapp, Tony (Amy) Vella, and Helen Vella; great-grandchildren, Andrianna, Roman and Christopher; sister, Sue Bianchi and sister-in-law Mary Pierleoni and special companion, Annie Szkirpan.
Family will receive friends on Monday, November 24, from 5 - 9 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, 2636 Ridgeway Ave. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday at 10 AM at St. Lawrence Church, 1000 North Greece Rd. Interment, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
