Betty Jane (Simpson) Graupman, 89, of Spencerport, passed away October 23rd surrounded by her family. Mrs. Graupman was born June 21, 1929, in Rochester. She attended Rochester Grammar School 41 where she first met her husband Edward C. Graupman. She later graduated from John Marshall High School. They then married and this year celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary.
Betty and Ed had two sons, the late Lee (Jean) Graupman, and Mark (Mary) Graupman; grandsons, Paul Graupman, Andrew, Matt and Davy Graupman; several great grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and beloved friends. Mrs. Graupman was predeceased by her brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Joan Simpson.
Mrs. Graupman trained and served as a volunteer EMT with the Bristol Fire Department. She was best known as an accomplished quilter of more than 40 years. Mrs. Graupman enjoyed creating and gifting beautiful quilts to family members on special occasions.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at Rochester Presbyterian Home, 256 Thurston Road, Rochester, NY 14619 on Friday, November 9th at 2 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Mrs. Graupman's name may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Rochester & Finger Lakes Chapter, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, D.C., 20090-6011 with thanks from the family.
