Brenda Thomas

Brenda Faye Thomas, a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, entered into eternal rest on January 10, 2025, in Rochester, New York. Born on May 10, 1957, in Tallahassee, Florida, Brenda lived a fulfilling life dedicated to her family and career, leaving behind a legacy of love and resilience.

Brenda’s professional journey began as a business analyst at RG&E and culminated with her tenure at PNC Bank. She earned her bachelor’s degree in business from Roberts Wesleyan University, a proud accomplishment that exemplified her belief that it is never too late to redirect one's life. Her career was characterized by a strong work ethic and dedication to the many businesses she served.

Central to Brenda's life was her devotion to her family. She always prioritized her daughter, Ashley (Antwon) Fell, imparting the invaluable lesson that nothing comes before being a mother. Her heart brimmed with love for her granddaughter, Jada Morris, with whom she shared playful moments filled with lighthearted banter. Brenda was also a loving sister to John (Morene) Wright, Joann Howard, Mickey (Carolyn) Fields, and Wanda (Albert) Abasumoh, and she held dearly the bonds she forged with her host of nieces and nephews.

Brenda’s personality was marked by incredible strength and resilience, qualities that enabled her to overcome numerous trials and tribulations throughout her life. Known for her generous spirit, she was the type of person who would give you the shirt off her back. Family was the cornerstone of her life, and her vibrant heart will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Irene; her brothers, Johnnie Lee, Arthur, Willie, and Isaac; and her twin sister, Melinda. Each of these relationships deeply impacted her life, and their memories will remain forever in the hearts of her family.

A visitation to honor and celebrate Brenda's life will be held on January 17, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at New Comer Funeral Home, Westside, located at 2636 Ridgeway Ave, Rochester, NY 14626.
