Carmen Zunelda Dickerson, 53, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 1st. Carmen, the daughter of the late Willie James Dickerson and Charlotte (Sessions) Dickerson was born on December 30, 1966 in Rochester, NY. Carmen, affectionately known as "Zunnie" loved growing up with her large family and remained close to her siblings until her passing. Carmen was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She doted on her family and was happiest when surrounded by them.
Carmen had a joyous laugh and enjoyed the company of family and friends. She graduated from Gates Chili High School and began working prior to graduation. She worked hard all her life in a variety of professions and found her passion for children led her to the Rochester City School District, where she was committed to the safety of children and devoted her talents until retirement. In her spare time, Carmen enjoyed reading (she loved a good book), watching basketball, romantic films, 90's R&B, black films, card games, fishing, traveling, breakfast dates, and most of all chatting with her children. Even though Carmen was taken too soon, she lived an extraordinary life surrounded and supported by people who adored her. Carmen touched a lot of people during her time on earth and she will be missed by many. Carmen now moves on to reunite with her mother and father.
Predeceased by her parents, Willie James Dickerson and Charlotte (Sessions) Dickerson; grandparents, David and Sallie Sessions; four siblings, Patricia Byrd, Prince Miller, Stacy Miller, and Donnie Dickerson.
