Predeceased by her parents, Dorothy & Thomas Thompson; brothers, Thomas & Robert Thompson; boyfriend, Ricky Metherell.
She is survived by her sister, Patricia Cavalier; nieces & nephews, Tabetha (Mark) Ammon, Bob (Stephanie) Cavalier, & Kirk (Liz) Cavalier; many great-nieces & nephews, and dear friends at Heritage Christian Home.

Carol Thompson leaves a legacy of kindness. Carol was born on February 15*, 1962. She passed away Sunday September 2d, 2024. She was 62 Her life was characterized by strength, perseverance and a fierce independence. This attitude brought her far through life. Carol was proud of being an Irish red head. Her favorite color was red. She loved country music and loved dancing to any type of music.
Carol loved being home and spending time with her housemates.
Carol lived with her mother until she moved into Peppermint in January 1995. Carol was an original to Peppermint. Carol loved her friends at Colby Day Hab, Springdale Farm and Life Center Day Habs. Carol attended school #52 until 1974. Then, I entered Greece Athena Middle school and then Brockport High School.
Carol enjoyed traveling to Inlet in the Adirondacks. She loved animals and loved to visit Zoo's and pet stores. One of her favorite adventures was with her friend Katrecia to Niagara Falls into Canada. Carol loved visiting the wax museum and butterfly museum. She loved the company of her friend and thought it was cool to be going to a different country.
Carol loved the older version of "Price is Right" with Bob Barker. You could often hear her cheering on the contestants and laughing while she watched. Other shows she enjoyed were Lawrence Welk, I love Lucy, Golden Girls, Chips, Bewitched, and Archie Bunker. Three of her favorite friends were Mary Beth Ferguson, Erin Brady and Marcia Burke. She enjoyed her longtime boyfriend Ricky Metherell for several years. They enjoyed times out to dinner, going to Valentine's Day dances, formals and the dances at Rotary camp each summer. A wonderful memory was when Rick sent a bouquet of flowers to his sweetheart out at Colby Day Hab to surprise her. They enjoyed several dinners together laughing and enjoying one another.
Carol enjoyed her friend Jamie from St. Lawrence Catholic Church. Jamie, a member at St. Lawrence Catholic Church faithfully came over to give Carol communion at her home. The two prayed together and really enjoyed each other's company. This relationship was really important to Carol. She looked forward to these visits each week.
Carol is predeceased by her mother Dorothy and father Thomas, several brother and sisters, and Ricky Metherell. Carol is survived by sister Patricia, nieces, Stephanie Cavalier (Bobby) and Tabetha Ammon (Mark) and great nieces and nephews
Plans for Carol's celebration of life will be announced at later date.
