Carolyn Jeanne Steel

Carolyn Jeanne Steel, a cherished soul who embodied kindness and warmth, unexpectedly passed away on January 29, 2025, at the age of 65. Born on November 8, 1959.

Carolyn's educational pursuits began at the Rochester Institute of Technology, where she studied Social Work. She furthered her education by graduating from Bryant & Stratton Business School.

A proud veteran, Carolyn served honorably in the U.S. Navy. Her military service was a significant part of her life. Despite Carolyn's life's challenges, she persevered on her own solitary journey. 

Carolyn had a deep passion for nature, animals, and music. She often found solace in the beauty of the great outdoors, taking time to appreciate the world around her. Her love for animals mirrored her caring spirit. Music was another one of her joys.

Carolyn will be remembered as a warm caring soul. As she embarks on her next journey, may she rest easier. Her spirit will continue to resonate in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her, reminding us all of the power of kindness and compassion.

Predeceased by parents, Bobbie Bill & Rita D. Steel; Brother, Kenneth R. Steel; half-brother, Harold Steel (of Texas).

She is survived by her sisters, Linda S. Gebhardt & Kathleen D. Steel; niece, Jennifer G. (Brad) Bowman; nephew, Tyler J. (Alexandria) Gebhardt; great-niece, Julianne Gebhardt; great-nephews, Gregory Gebhardt, Cooper Bowman & Boone Bowman; & many adoring cousins.

Family will receive friends Saturday, February 8, 2025 from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm, at New Comer Cremations & Funerals,6 Empire Blvd. A military honors service will be rendered at 3:00 pm.

In honor of Carolyn, contributions may be made to: Veterans of Foreign Wars, National Wildlife Federation or Landmark Society.
