GATES- Cesidio "Joe" Mastrella, 85, passed away on Thursday, October 10, 2019 surrounded by the love of his family.
Joe was born in Rochester, NY on October 22, 1933 to the late Angelo and Margaret Mastrella. On November 22, 1956 Joe married the love of his life, Marlene Mastrella. They were married for 62 years, and together they raised one son, John. Joe worked as a mason for several years before he became a machinist. He worked in many machine shops over the years and he retired in the early 90's. In his retirement he enjoyed bowling, playing golf, and going to the casino with his siblings. His passion in life was his family.
Joe is survived by his beloved wife, Marlene, his son, John (Christine) Mastrella, his grandchildren, Glen Saylor, and Sabrina Mastrella, his great-grandchildren, Johnny, Athena, Zachary, and Robert, his siblings, John (Angie) Mastrella, Margie Zacharia, Connie Cortese, Cindy Stebbins, Francis Mastrella, and Angelo Mastrella Jr., and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 2636 Ridgeway Ave., Rochester, NY 14626, on Wednesday, October 16, 2019, from 4pm-7pm. A funeral service will be held at the funeral on Thursday, October 17, 2019 at 10am.
