In Loving Memory of Charlotte (CHARLIE) O’Keefe

July 25, 1954 - December 9, 2024

On December 9, 2024, the world lost a sharp wit, a kind heart, and an unforgettable presence. Charlie leaves behind a legacy of laughter, love, and kindness. She had a remarkable ability to tell it like it was, often accompanied by a sarcastic quip or quick joke, always delivered with an underlying warmth. Her genuine nature and unyielding determination to bring joy to others were constants, even in her final moments.

Charlie cherished the simple pleasures of life: fishing, a spirited game of Scrabble, and spending quality time with her beloved grandchildren, children, and friends. She found immense joy in her 20-year career with the Fairport Central School District, where she treasured the opportunity to watch her children navigate their high school years. Along the way, she built many lifelong friendships. Her office at Fairport High School was a welcoming space, frequented by students drawn to her fun-loving, kind, and caring personality.

Charlie is survived by her husband of 10 years, Mike Perkis; her siblings, Janet and Steve Walton; her children, Krista (Christian) Gascon and Kevin (Lyubov) O'Keefe; her stepdaughter, Carrie Perkis; her grandchildren, Noah and Natalie; and her step-granddaughter, Giuliana.

In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to honor Charlie’s memory with laughter. Tell a joke, watch a funny movie, or share a story about her that brings a smile to your face.

A public celebration of her life will take place after the holidays on January 4, 2025 at Preservation Beer Company (75 N Main St. Fairport, NY) from 12 PM - 3 PM.
