Cody M. Vagg

February 23, 1993 — August 19, 2017

Greece: Passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, August 19th 2017 at the age 24. Survived by parents, John & Kerry; sisters, Alexis & Brenna; paternal grandmother, Carol Vagg-Hanlon; maternal grandparents, Jean & Cecil Milligan; aunts & uncles, Kristen (Dan) Kerwin, Shawn (Jana) Milligan, Chris (Barb) Vagg; many cousins, extended family & friends.

Cody Morgan Vagg was a beloved son, brother, grandson, co-worker, and friend to many. He was the most genuine man around. He was born and raised in Rochester, NY. From the start, we knew Cody was a special baby. He was attached to his mother, Kerry, and never wanted to be put down. Even though he was used to being the center of attention, Cody had no problem taking on the role of big brother for his two younger sisters, Alexis and Brenna. Cody adored his mom; he idolized his father; and he fiercely protected his sisters from any harm – real or imagined — that may have come their way. Growing up, Cody was a natural at playing sports and making friends on and off the field. Not long after Cody's first steps, Cody was off to join his first Greece T-ball team -- with his dad by his side as the coach. Although he enjoyed playing tball and went on to play baseball throughout middle and high school, his true passion was football. Cody's dedication to football started on pop warner team Greece chargers as a jr pee-wee, all the way to becoming a Greece Arcadia Titan Varsity football player. Cody's love for football and his love for his family went hand and hand: games brought the family together. While Cody was on the field, he could always count on his sisters being on the sidelines and his parents in the bleachers -- rain or shine -- cheering him on.
Cody was a well-rounded person, with a lot of passion for everything he pursued in his life. In the winters, you could easily find Cody out snowmobiling with his father, John, on the trails of the Tughill plateau. Summers were a time for boating with his Uncle Shawn and camping with family. In the fall and spring, Grandpa Cec and Cody spent countless hours fishing the streams of the Adirondacks.
The bond between Cody and his parents was unbreakable. The love of adventure and the company of his father led Cody to journey the open road on his motorcycle with his dad. Cody's relationship with his mom continued to be a beautiful connection of love. Family time was held to a sacred level, and Cody enjoyed spending time talking about and planning life with his mom. He and his sister Alexis cooked (and laughed) together – mastering almost any cuisine, especially chicken parm or chicken marsala. Cody and Brenna were famous for their midnight runs to any open venue for a quick bite to eat.
Throughout Cody's professional tenure, he worked his way up to a career as an electrician apprentice. He could ace any test without studying. On work-sites, Cody was revered for his leadership skills and ability to learn. He took pride in the various tools he worked hard to secure and his ability to use them was evident to anyone lucky enough to work alongside him.
Friends of Cody remark that he had the ability to make anyone laugh, even during difficult circumstances. Throughout rough times for him or his friends', Cody was able to tap into a deep sense of the goodness in life. He was able to point to a positive light and the desire to overcome the darkness. He found strength in his relationship with God and his connection to the many positive relationships in his life.
Death is never expected or welcomed, but we take comfort in knowing he went home to be with Jesus and we will see him again on some beautiful day.

All of those who plan on attending Cody's services are welcome to wear the color blue as it was his favorite color.
