Dallas A. Cooper Jr.

September 13, 1998 — April 10, 2022

-Rochester, age 23.

Dallas A. Cooper, Jr. was born in Rochester, NY on September 13, 1998, and his life was tragically ended on April 10, 2022. He is survived by his mother, Fatinma DuBoise, his father, Dallas A. Cooper, Sr. (Demetria), sisters Synia DuBoise and Paige Watson, brothers Pierre Besemer, Demetrius Cooper, and Maliek Miller, grandparents Melissa (Leonard) Kirkland, Kimble (Evelyn) DuBoise, Cleveland, Sr. (Kimberly) Cooper, great grandmother Mary "Motha" Hunt and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Dallas was predeceased by his grandmother Deborah Cooper, great grandfather and grandmother, Mozell and Nadine Cooper, great grandfather and grandmother Lawrence and Lena Sheffield, great grandmother Millie Mae Britt, great aunties Elveria Larkin and Bernice Sheffield.
Whether you knew him as Dallas, lil' Dallas, cuz, nephew, or Dallas Sinatra, he was "that guy". His smile…let's just hold it right there for a moment. There was nothing better than when he came on the scene with that infectious grin on his face. If you were blessed enough to be his friend then you were family, period, and there was nothing he would not do for you.
Dallas was a 2017 graduate of Joseph C. Wilson Magnet High School. Football played a huge role in molding Dallas into the young man he had become, and he excelled on the field. NFL football was a celebrated family pastime especially when Dak Prescott the boys graced the grid iron…" how 'bout them Cowboys!" Family, food, and good vibes, those were really the simple pleasure that brought him so much joy. Guaranteed to show up to a party, cookout, or gathering with a few hugs, kisses, and an empty stomach; he loved his food.
Recently, Dallas had committed to joining his father and uncle in the family business of trucking and transportation. His CDL was a source of pride and accomplishment to both him and his family. The seed of hard work, faith, and perseverance had been planted years ago and he had just begun to reap the benefits of his efforts. His career moves exposed him to life outside Rochester and gained him new opportunities to pay it forward. He was going places and enjoying the ride, and he had every intention of taking his family with him.
Life cannot be summed up by simply putting pen to paper. Dallas Cooper, Jr. was too great for that. His essence personifies God's Grace and Love for us. It's said, "heavy is the head that wears the crown", and he quickly learned that being a man meant being a leader and being willing to fight for others so that we all could be great. He fought to be a provider, a protector, an advocate. He strived to show up for his people. Not everyone the same way, but all that loved him got to experience this selflessness. It's been so rough lately. The pain being felt by the masses is so intense and unfathomable most days. Dallas was known and embraced by so many, each relationship different and uniquely special. Having to deal with Dallas not being here is agonizing. His light may have been extinguished, but his beautiful spirit will persist in our thoughts and memories. Dallas made us want to be better, and we should be so grateful for having had this time to love him and be loved by him. He's carried his cross here on earth and earned his eternal peace. Rest Dallas and know that we will continue to hold on to these memories until we meet again.
