GATES-David John Carsel, 67, passed away suddenly on Thursday, July 16, 2020.
David was born in Albion, NY on October 26, 1951 to the late Frank and Virginia Carsel. David worked as an accountant for Genesee Brewery for many years. After his retirement he went on to work for Children Awaiting Parents. David was a talented figure skater, and was heavily involved with the Genesee Figure Skating Club. David spent the last four years of his life with his beloved partner and soulmate, Ryan McBride. Together they loved antiquing, and spending time together making their new home. He will be remembered as a loving partner, son, uncle, and friend. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew him.
He is survived by his partner, Ryan, his nephew, Robbie Carsel, his niece Meredith Carsel, his friends, and all his friends at Genesee Figure Skating Club, and CAP.
Services will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
Donations may be made in David's name to Children Awaiting Parents, or the United States Figure Skating Association Memorial Fund.
