David Richard Kaufman

David Kaufman; born, raised and lived the majority of his life in New York, spent his college years living in Boston, proudly retired to Florida, and then returned to New York, passed on April 25, 2022. He was surrounded by his loving family at the time of his passing at age 73.

Predeceased by: his sister, Lisa; mother, Terri; father, Marwyn; loved ones and friends.
Survived by: His wife; Pamela Kaufman, son; Daniel (Shauna Pelow) Kaufman, daughter; Leah (Thomas Klehr) Kaufman, Grandchildren; Korrie, Zackary and Jordan, Aunt and Uncle; Sue and Ed Gitlitz, Cousins; Neal (Donna) Gitlitz, Todd (Karen) Gitlitz, and Many friends, family and loved ones.

David was born in 1949 in Bronx, NY. He grew up with his younger sister, Lisa and cousins Neil and Todd. He graduated from Walt Whitman High School, Huntington Station, New York in 1967. He then attended Emerson College in Boston, MA, where he graduated with a BA in Communications. Professionally, he worked at the Boston Herald after graduating college. While working at the Boston Herald, he met his wife, Pamela in 1977. They married in September, 1979 and then moved to Rochester, NY and shortly thereafter began raising their family in Rochester.

David was a great father and husband, hard worker, devoted and loyal family man, enjoyed spending time and celebrating with family. David was a lifelong dog-lover, had many family dogs and enjoyed caring for them and especially spending time outside taking them for walks.David greatly enjoyed reading, watching sports – especially baseball as an avid NY Yankees fan, swimming, travelling – seeing and experiencing new things, had a great knowledge and interest in geography, trivia and current events.

Family will receive loved ones and friends for his funeral service Saturday, May 14, 2022 4:00pm-7:00pm at New Comer Cremations and Funerals: 2636 Ridgeway Ave, Rochester, NY 14626.
