Passed away at the age of 68 on September 8, 2017 at the Shore Winds Nursing Home. He was predeceased by his parents Charles and June (Salter) McDonald. Survived by sons, Christopher (Barbaranne) and Jason, and their mother, Jacqueline McDonald-Schwalb (Nick); granddaughter, Anna McDonald; sister, Lisa King; loving cousin, Sharon Weise, cousins Dennis Richards and Lori Albanese.
David was a Friend of Bill W. for over 20 years and known as "The Coffee Guy" at Park Ave. meetings. He was born in Rochester and lived in several different neighborhoods throughout his lifetime. One of the last of those being the Cobbs Hill neighborhood. David could frequently be seen walking in the neighborhood to a daily meeting or to a local cafe for a good cup of coffee, or Sticky Lips, his favorite BBQ place. David explored several different careers paths throughout his life. During the 1970's and 1980's as a manager at American Packaging. Later working at the Catholic Family Center and later at H & H Fast Delivery as a driver. During the last few years before retiring he worked at East House as an overnight care giver. He will be greatly missed by his family and those who knew him well.
His family will receive friends Tuesday, November 21st from 6-8 PM at New Comer Cremations and Funerals, 6 Empire Blvd., Rochester, NY 14609.
