On Monday, January 2, 2023, Dean passed away suddenly. Dean is survived by his wife Maggie, Brother Gary, Son Stephen, Daughter Lisa, Granddaughter Marie Edwards (Brandon Harding), Great Granddaughter Gracelyn Harding and Great Grandson Maddox Harding. As well as many friends.
Born in Beatrice Nebraska, Dean was a farm boy. His father Carl and mother Hilda later moved the family to Michigan. After Graduating, Dean served honorably in the US Army during the Korean War. Following his military service, Dean met and married the love of his life, Mary Margaret LeBlanc on 2/13/1960 and began a career at Eastman Kodak which eventually brought him to Rochester Ny until retiring in1989 after 33 years of dedicated service.
Dean was a talented carpenter and handyman who worked an additional 20 years after he retired, under the name "Dean the house doctor".
Dean was loved by everyone who met him, he was a kind, gentle man who loved his wife deeply for 63 years.
Dean could always be seen wearing one of his many hats and his fun socks. He loved birds and maintained numerous bird feeders.
Dean will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved him. We will always remember the selfless, kindhearted man that he was and will keep him in our hearts forever.
Calling hours and services will be delayed until April to allow out of town family to come and celebrate the life of this wonderful man.
Calling hours will be held on 4/14 from 4 pm until 7 pm at new comers funeral home on Empire Blvd.
There will be a service held at St.John of Rochester in Pittsford on Saturday 4/15/23 at 10 AM with military honors.
Following the service on Saturday, family and friends are invited to join us for a light meal at the Legacy located at 100 Mcauley drive Rochester NY 14610.
