SPENCERPORT – Della Etta Inman, age 87, died Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at The Wegman Cottages, where she had been a resident for almost three years. She was born on December 29, 1928 in Adrian, PA, the daughter of James and Lottie (Nolder) Shaffer.
Della attended the Church of the Nazarene in Rochester until her failing health made it difficult to attend. Della was an amazing mother to fourteen children and was famous for her homemade cinnamon rolls, bread, and peanut butter fudge. She enjoyed listening to music, especially country music and gospel. She loved roses, especially pink and yellow. Della really enjoyed putting together puzzles and would also spend hours coloring in her stained glass coloring books.
Survivors include four daughters: Rosanna Toikkanen of Conneaut, Ohio; Sandra (James) Frieday and Diana Inman of Spencerport, NY; and Donna (Michael) Pache of Buffalo, NY; eight sons: James (Rose) Inman of Darien Center, NY, Robin Inman of Garfield Heights, OH, Donald (Joan) Inman of Palatka, FL, Terry (Aleta) Inman of Kingsville, OH, Larry (Kim) Inman of Kissimmee, FL, Brett Inman of Virginia Beach, VA, Bart (Yvonne) Inman of Girard, PA, and Leo (Carolyn) Inman of Attica, NY; 36 loving grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great grandchildren.
Della was preceded in death by her husband, Russell J. Inman; a daughter, Patricia King; a son, Robert Mauck; a granddaughter, Dolly Houston; a grandson, Jonathan Inman; her brother, Kenneth Gamble; her sisters Violet Altman, Cora Shaffer, Marie Minninger, Sally Rosenberger, and Ruby Toy; and her parents.
Family will receive friends, Friday, September second from four till seven at New Comer funeral home, 2636 Ridgeway Avenue, and a celebration of Della's life will be held at a later time for family and close friends.
