Dmytro Skrylnyk

 Dmytro took his journey to heaven unexpectedly at the young age of 56 at Rochester General Hospital in Rochester, NY. 

He received wonderful care there for a long time. Dmytro’s form of ‘humor’ was very different from most people. The ‘sarcasm’ was there almost every time he spoke. He was extremely stubborn & always had to be ‘right’. He would never, ever admit when he was wrong! He never liked to throw anything away & would literally ‘save’ everything!!!!! The ‘clutter’ never bothered him like it always did me. My favorite story is about his black ‘duct tape’ slippers. He bought them many, many years ago & would never throw them away. Many people have tried to give him ‘new’ ones, but he never wore the ‘new’ ones! They are literally held together by the duct tape & would definitely fall apart if they weren’t held together by the tape! I could never talk him out of keeping things that most people would consider not worth saving. As I look around he house now, I see so many of those things. He was a very protective husband & always made sure I was taken care of if he wasn’t around. He had a very strong spirit, so I have no doubt he will be watching over me.

Predeceased by his parents Mefody & Julianna Skrylnyk; brothers Julian (Krystyna) Kiljan & Henryk Kiljan.

He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Kimberly Skrylnyk; brother Wladyslaw (Halina) Kiljan; In-laws Mietka Kiljan & Kathy(John) Giovine; Nieces & Nephews Maciej (Jacqueline "Jackie" O'Brien) Kiljan, Maria Kiljan, Michal "Mishu" Kiljan, Piotr (Matylda) Kiljan, Joanna (Daniel Kucharski) Kiljan, Milena (Szymon Wojciechowski) Kiljan; Great niece & nephew Daniel Kiljan & Eliana Kucharski. 

Family will receive friends 12-2pm Saturday September 28, 2024 at New Comer Cremations and Funerals, 6 Empire Blvd. (next to Donut's Delight).

Funeral services will follow visitation at 2pm in the chapel of the funeral home.
