Rochester - Passed away on December 22, 2023 at the age of 92.
Predeceased by her, husband, Donn P. Rice; son, Douglas H.(Sylvia) Rice.
She is survived by her children, Daniel (Edith) Rice, David (Beth) Rice, & Deborah Cluff; grandchildren, Jennifer (Paul) Dame, Stephanie Putney, Jessica (Joseph) Burris, Abigail, Rebecca (Ryan) Fitzpatrick, Thomas, Emily (Travis) Patterson, Timothy (Larissa), Katherine, Christina (Hunter Wilder) Colombo, John (Shaina) Colombo, Victoria Colombo & Tamara (Joseph) Sault & great-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, Tyler, Alexa, Olivia, and Evan Dame, Autumn, Anna, Sarah, and Emma Putney, Blake and Blayton Burris, August & Eleanor Wilder, and Alaric Colombo, & Finn Patterson
Donna was an adoring wife of 65 years to Donn, a doting grandmother to 13 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren! She loved playing games and cooking for her large family. Her home was the focal point of family gatherings for decades, always filled with love.
She also loved music, was a lifelong piano player and church choir member. And a longtime supporter of the local arts in Rochester.
Donna enjoy playing bridge with many friends throughout her life. She was an active church volunteer and led numerous committees in the United Methodist Church.
She will be remembered for her strong faith, her generous spirit and her early adoption of healthy lifestyle habits. She could frequently be seen riding her bicycle in her Greece neighborhood. And her legacy of family food recipes will live for generations!
Family will receive friends 10:00 am - 12:00 pm Thursday, December 28, 2023 at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 2636 Ridgeway Ave. A Memorial Service to celebrate Donna's life will be held 1:00 pm Saturday April 6, 2024 at Aldersgate UMC, 4115 Dewey Ave., Rochester, NY 14616. Private family interment at Falls Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to: the church OR Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra
