Youngman, Doris Helen (Crocka)
Rochester: Doris Youngman passed away peacefully Tuesday, November 11, 2008 in Rochester, New York at age 78 surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her children, David (Karen) Youngman Sr. of Chili, NY, Diane Giambrone of Queensbury, NY, Doreen (Jeff) Riales of Rochester, NY, Donna (John) Altmire of Farmington NY; grandchildren, David (Amber) Youngman Jr. of Chili, NY., Adam Giambrone of East Lansing, MI., Todd and Jamie Miller of Farmington, NY, Bill (Jean) Miller of Chili, NY; great-grandchildren, Alyssa Miller of Chili, NY, Brittany, Breanna and Brandy Youngman of Chili, NY. She was predeceased by her husband, Adam Piekart; mother, Beulah Wing; step-father, Vernon Wing; brother, Gerald Crocka; grandparents, Peter and Anna Crocka; and nephew, Kyle Crocka.
Doris was born in Rose, NY and graduated from Ontario High School in 1948. She worked for many years at Stromberg Carlson and for School Pictures. She devoted herself to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren who were the light of her life. She had a humorous, generous and independent spirit and was an accomplished cook who excelled at canning and baking. She will be deeply missed by everyone who knew her.
The family gives special thanks to the staff at the Vascular Unit 4200 and the Dialysis Unit of Rochester General Hospital who helped Doris immensely. The staff of Lifetime Home Care who helped maintain her independence at home. The staff at the Dialysis Center at Seneca Ridge who treated Doris over the past several months and members of Hospice Services for Lifetime and Rochester General Hospital who guided her and the family on her final journey home.
The family will receive friends Saturday, November 29, 2008 from 12-2 PM at the New Comer Funeral Home, 6 Empire Blvd, where A Memorial Service will follow at 2 PM. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Doris' name may be directed to The Dialysis Center at Seneca Ridge or Lifetime Care Hospice of Rochester.
