ROCHESTER - Passed away peacefully on February 18, 2019 at age 100 in the care of the Webster Comfort Care Home. Doris was born to Edgar Stagles and Mary (Williams) Stagles in January 1919 and is predeceased by 5 older brothers and 4 younger sisters. Doris' loving husband, Robert S. Wiley, passed away in 2009 after 70 years of marriage.
Doris always enjoyed caring for others as a fulltime housewife and mother. She was self-taught seamstress, making clothes for herself and her children as well as beautiful patch quilts from left over fabrics. Later she made lap robes and wheelchair bags for residents in nursing home and scarf hats for women undergoing chemotherapy. Doris also volunteered for the American Cancer Society and drove a bus for the Ronald McDonald House. She was a member of the Webster Baptist Church.
Doris is survived by her 5 children: Robert T. (Marian), Richard W. (Margaret), Arthur S. (Nancy), John D. (Debra) Wiley and Susan (Norman) Berlinski; 10 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Private Services for the family will be held at a later date.
