Edward J. Dougherty

E.J. Dougherty, 56, passed away on August 13, 2020. EJ was born in Rochester, NY on December 18, 1963. He was predeceased by mother Joan Dougherty (Rodenhouse) and father Hugh Gray. EJ and Patty started their journey in 1991. He married her on August 28, 1998. The Dougherty's live in Irondequoit where EJ worked as an automotive mechanic. EJ and Patty raised two wonderful sons Kyle and Kevin.

EJ enjoyed vacationing with his family. EJ also enjoyed spending time going to car shows, boating, fixing things, spending time with friends and family. He loved taking his faithful dogs on walks. He loved all his lifetime pets. Although EJ had been sick for many years, he still put his family and friends first. He was a man of great strength and refused to give up.

EJ is survived by his wife Patty, son's Kyle (Stacie) Dougherty, Kevin Dougherty; sister Karen (Tom) Eagan; grandson Samuel Dougherty, brother-in-laws John (Karen) Coules; Patrick (Lisa) Coleman and many nieces,nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Friends and family may call on Thursday, August 20, 2020 from 4:00pm-8:00pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 6 Empire Blvd. Rochester, NY. The family is requesting that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Golisano Children's Hospital or Operation Freedom Ride.
