Mrs. Elaine Muriel Patten Dubman, 81, of Hilton, NY, died Saturday, July 23, 2022 at University of Rochester Medical Center Highland Hospital.
"The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace." Numbers 6:24-26 NIV
Elaine was a native of Battle Creek, Michigan, the daughter of loving parents, Muriel Forbes Patten and Harold Laverne Patten. During her childhood, she spent many fun summers with her cousins in Weedsport, NY. She attended Western Michigan University while working at a Kellogg's cereal factory (she would joke about having raisins stuck to her shoes after work). She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in 1964. She began her professional career as a librarian in the engineering department at Clark Equipment Company, where she met Paul Dubman, whom she married in 1968.
Elaine and Paul had three children while living in Michigan, and then moved to Rochester, NY in 1979. She juggled raising three kids while working, finding time to drive the kids to cross country practice, guitar lessons and dance lessons, among many other things. In 1988, Elaine and Paul moved to Charlotte, NC, where they continued to raise their children and pursue professional goals. She returned to upstate NY in 2018.
Elaine was a wonderful daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, cousin, friend and person. She loved cats, Target, little trips to the grocery store, and QVC home shopping. She enjoyed going out to see plays with friends, she hated squirrels and curbs feared her. She started every day with a hot cup of coffee and she loved hot dogs. She was always happy when family got together. Elaine, you will be missed: "May the four winds blow you safely home."
Elaine is survived by sons; Vince Dubman and wife Tracy Pasfield, Sean Dubman and wife Amy Dubman, and daughter; Alissa Stoffler and husband Dan Stoffler, grandchildren; Paul and wife Kerri, Jessi and fiancé Brian, Julia, Robbie, William, Elliott and Corinna, great granddaughter Maddie, loving cousins, and dear friends. She was preceded in death by husband Paul Dubman, who passed away in 2007.
