Liz was born in Cassville Pa in 1938. She was first born in a family of five and her father lovingly named her "the Jewel" as she was his favorite. This became her nickname and her sisters, "the three rhinestones", lovingly teased her throughout her life.
Liz's goal and passion in life was helping and caring for others.
Not only was she a great mom to all nine of her children, but she also helped raise several grandchildren, and took care of her mother and Jack's mother as they neared the end of their lives. She loved animals and treasured the many four legged children she cared for through the years.
She and Jack were married for 46 years, and she was his caregiver at the end of his days.
Liz was active in ARC (Achieve) of Broome/Tioga county for Janeen and was very involved with Special Olympics during Janeen's young adulthood.
Liz and Janeen loved the Buffalo Bill and were enthusiastic and loyal fans!
Everyone who met Liz thought she was sweet and "young at heart". In her later years, the aides at the Legacy who helped care for her loved her like a Mom.
Liz once said that her goal in life was to be the best wife and mother she could possibly be. Everyone who knew her would agree!
Even as her physical body began to deteriorate in later years, her love for her family was ever strong.
Liz will be missed by all.
Her faith was very important to her and brought her strength and comfort. She is at peace, finally pain-free and enjoying eternal rest with God in heaven.
Family will receive friends Saturday, November 19, 2022 11AM-12PM, at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 2636 Ridgeway Avenue. A Service for Liz will follow immediately at 12PM.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to
The Special Olympics in Liz's memory.
