Emeline [Emma] Deborah Alene Adams was born in Buffalo, New York, on May 31, 1948, to the late Nora Lee Morgan and James Adams.
She relocated to Rochester, New York, met and married on August 4, 1971, Alfred Holley. After 19 years of marriage March 26, 1990, they divorced. Emma graduated July 27, 1991, from the Rochester Educational Equal Opportunity Center (REOC) as a licensed practical nurse.
Her first pastor was Reverend Viola Jacob of Gospel Angels. When Reverend Jacob passed, Emma attended and joined Zion Hill Restoration Ministries under the leadership of Pastor Shirley Hadeed. Later, Emma joined Interfaith Gospel Tabernacle under the leadership of Pastor Nina Warr.
Emma departed peacefully on March 22, 2022. She is survived by siblings: Joseph (Katie) Adams of Buffalo, NY, Surrey J. Adams (Fiancée Denice Scott), Robert Adams, Delores Adams, James Adams, Janie Adams from Buffalo, NY, and her only child Dr. Monique Adams from Rochester, NY. She also leaves a host of nephews and nieces and friends.
Friends may call 10am-12 noon Friday April 1, 2022 at New Comer Cremations and Funerals, 2636 Ridgeway Ave. (west of Long Pond Rd.). Funeral services will be held following visitation in the chapel of the funeral home at 12 noon. Interment Mt. Hope Cemetery.
