Born April 9th, 1955 in Fajardo, P.R. Died in Rochester on May 31st, 2020 after being clean and sober since September 3rd, 1985. He taught social studies at East High School and at School 17 from where he retired two years ago. He is remembered for his quick wit, his generous heart and his noble soul. He is survived by several cousins and friends, each of whom he treasured. He will always be held with deep love in the memories of his wife, Kathleen; children, Ivonne Byrnes, Vanessa and Sean McNamara; grandchildren, Scarlett, Mia, Ryan James; siblings, Yolanda Diaz and Joseph Fernandez. A private funeral mass will be presided over by Fr. McGrath at St. Michael's Catholic Church on June 4th. Interment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Instead of flowers or cards, donations may be made to the Oncology Dept of Golisano Children's Hospital at 601 Elmwood Ave Rochester, NY 14642.
