Jeremiah 1:5
“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you…”
Erik Craig Johnson departed this life on June 3, 2024 at the age of 56. Erik was born to Margaret and Johnny Johnson Sr on May 4, 1968. The youngest son, Erik graduated Jefferson High School in 1986 where he enjoyed playing football. He loved academics and became a lifelong learner. He joined the United States Airforce immediately after graduation. After leaving the Airforce he worked for Kodak and later found his passion as a Truck Driver working for various companies travelling the country meeting new friends along the way from all cultures.
His greatest joy was his family. He enjoyed planning and attending family gatherings. He shared that excitement with his nephews and nieces and planned to take them for cross country tour for the upcoming reunion.
He enjoyed bringing joy to others especially over 48 nieces and nephews. His love was shared with many other friends and relatives. He was known as a friend and mentor to young men around his neighborhood who needed guidance.
Erik will be dearly missed by all who knew his kind generous heart, his beautiful smile and thoughtfulness. He was love in action and deed. We are grateful to have had his legacy of love and unselfish giving that he left.
He was predeceased by his grandfather Reverend Johnnie Johnson (Gainesville, FL), and grandmother Mary Lou Allen (Rochester, NY), preceded him in death along with his sister Helen Hawthorne, brother Johnny Johnson, His niece Mary Louise Johnson and his Aunt Reverend Deloris Simpson and Uncle Walter Johnson.
He leaves to cherish his memory his parents, Johnny & Margaret Johnson; siblings, Marian Washington, Vangelia President, Synthia Wilson, Devery (James) Adair, Alberta Johnson, & Regina Randall; many nieces, nephews, relatives, & friends.
He loved the Lord Jesus Christ and put his trust in Him believing that he would see Him one day. He has departed this life but is joined to those who have gone before and is now in the great cloud of witnesses.
