Greece: Friday, September 5, 2008, at age 89. Predeceased by his sister, Margaret Battersby, brother, Louis Kubanka, nephew, Stephen Kubanka & niece, Diane Small.
He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Mary; brother, William (Laura) Kubanka; sister, Marion Wowkowych; nieces & nephews, Marilyn(Sal)DiLeo, Richard Matwyshen, Joan Battersby, Janet Marie(Terry) Thompson, Julie Ann(Lee) Fella, Victoria DePalma, Peggy Ho, Douglas(Evelyn) Kubanka, Stephen(JoAnn) Wowkowych, Anne(Michael) Kirkpatrick & Peter Wowkowych; special friend, Charlie Doering.
Ernest served in the 17th Airborne Division of the US Army Air Corps. He was a retiree of the Eastman Kodak Company, and was an avid fisherman, bowler, and euchre player.
Family and Friends may call Tuesday, 4-8 PM at the New Comer Funeral Home, 2636 Ridgeway Ave. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday at 10:30 AM at Our Lady of Mercy Church. Interment, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1400 Winton Road N., Rochester, NY 14609 or the Multiple Sclerosis Society, 1650 South Avenue, Rochester, New York 14620 in Ernest memory.
