He attended Road Town Elementary (Tortola, BVI) and graduated from Sts. Peter & Paul High School (St. Thomas, USVI) and the American Institute of Banking. When he was young, he loved climbing coconut trees, boating, fishing, running, and spending time with his family. He enlisted in the US Army in 1962. He served in many locations including Aberdeen Proving Grounds, Fort Dix, and lastly, Germany during the Vietnam War receiving the National Defense Service Medal. He moved into the Army Reserve until 1969.
After his military service he joined the workforce eventually becoming a customer services supervisor and operations manager with Bankers Trust (Deutsch Bank). In 1969, Felix married Doretha Taylor. He moved from New York to Newark, NJ and eventually settled in Irvington where he stayed until his death. He enjoyed baseball and bowling, which he won a number of trophies, going fishing, watching sports on TV, and traveling with his friends to attend NASCAR races. He was the most jovial person who always had a smile for each person he met. Felix loved that he was from the islands and eating fresh fish and mangos.
