ROCHESTER, NY
Floyd B. Kyea, 95, passed away peacefully at his home with family by his side on April 6, 2018.
He was born in AuSable Forks, NY on June 2, 1922, the son of Jeremiah ("Jerry") and Marie (Sawyer) Kyea. He lived in AuSable Forks until 18 years old when he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served in WWII in the China-Burma-India (CBI) First Air Commando's. Floyd was a Silver Star recipient and was Honorably Discharged from service in 1945.
Floyd attended Syracuse University where he met his future wife, Marjorie Green and later attended Rochester Business Institute. He worked at Eastman Kodak Company in Rochester, NY for 32 years and was a lifetime member of The American Legion. Floyd enjoyed bowling, travelling, picnics and cookouts with family, spending time with his Grandchildren and helping others in countless ways.
He is survived by his sons and daughters, David (Lani) Kyea of Clayton, NM, Diane (Earl "Duke") Beideck of Rochester, NY, Martha Caille of Carlsbad, CA, Cheryl (Doug) Fair of Muncie, IN and Jeff (Cherie) Caille of Portage, MI, brother Marvin (Pam) Kyea of AuSable Forks, NY and sister Marlene Kyea of Glens Falls, NY, 8 Grandchildren, 14 Great-Grandchildren and 1 Great-Great Granddaughter, several nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death are his parents, Jerry and Marie Kyea, brothers Wallace, Paul, Leonard, Bob, Roger Kyea, sisters Charlotte Kyea, Virginia (Tom) Wray and Gertrude (Ralph) Klubertanz. Wife (1) Marjorie (Green) Kyea and (2) Anne E. (Irvin) Kyea and Granddaughter Tammy Phillips.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday April 11th 2018 at St. John's the Evangelist Church, 2400 W Ridge Rd, Rochester, NY 14626 at 10AM. Interment will be at Union Cemetery, Windsor, IN. In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution may be given to the Disabled American Vets.
