Rochester: Monday, July 20, 2009 at age 82. Predeceased by his parents, Floyd L. and Doris M. (Herrmann) Holmes; brother, Douglas M. Holmes. He is survived by his loving wife, Janet R. (Beideck); daughter and son-in-law, Christine H. and Frank Post; grandchildren, Jennifer and Kimberley Post; brother, Ronald (Sue) of Rochester, MN; sister-in-law, Marie Holmes; several nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews, cousins and friends. Floyd was a member of the Unity Lodge (Masons), Etolian Chapter (OES) and NCT Camping Group. He was a US Navy Veteran and served on the USS Navasota (1944-1946).
Family and friends may call Wednesday (Today) 6-9 PM at the New Comer Funeral Home, 2636 Ridgeway Avenue where his Funeral Service will be held Thursday at 1:30 PM. Friends may meet at the entrance of Riverside Cemetery, Friday 10 AM for a Graveside Service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Parkinson Disease Association, 135 Parkinson Avenue, Parkinson Plaza, Staten Island, New York 10305-1425 in Russ's memory.
