Francis (Frank) Joseph Tanney

Born in 1937, a native of Mt. Carmel, PA and a resident of Greece, NY for the last 60 years. Passed away on January 25, 2025 at the age of 87.

Frank was a Husband, Father, Father-In-Law, Uncle, Brother, Son and a good friend to many. Frank brought humility, kindness and humor to every role he played in life. He was a very simple man of great character and a kind nature who was loved by family and friends alike.

Preceded in death by his loving wife of 54 years Celine Tanney (Kase), his brother Robert J Tanney also of Greece, New York, his parents Francis and Elizabeth Tanney of Mt. Carmel, PA and his loving daughter Lisa Tanney (Carey) of Rochester, New York.

Frank is survived by his Son Michael Joseph Tanney and his wife Yanela Tanney of Greece, NY, daughter Laurie Smith and her husband Larry J J Smith Jr of Cumming, Georgia, Grandsons Matthew Danial Lawrence Smith and Aaron Francis Patrick Smith both of Cumming, Ga, Ronald and Kathy Tanney of Mt. Carmel PA and Nephew Robert (Bob) Tanney of Greece, NY. 

Frank was a Military Veteran of the United States Navy. He was stationed in Pearl Harbor-Hickam Field from 1955-1959. Frank loved his Country and was Proud of his accomplishments during his Military service. Frank was Honorably Discharged in 1959.
