Peacefully, on Friday, June 16, 2006, at age 90, surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his devoted wife of 66 years, Geraldine; children, Carol (Bill) Sharpe, Richard F. (Connie) Newman and Robert J. (Bev) Newman; sister, Doris Amick; grandchildren, Scott, Gary, Gregory, Kevin, Karen, Christine, Carrie, Holly, Elisabeth and Suzanne; along with 16 great-grandchildren. Francis retired from the Rochester Police Dept. after serving for 29 years. He will always be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather & great-grandfather.
The family will receive friends on Monday, June 19, from 4-8 PM at the New Comer Family Funeral Home, 2636 Ridgeway Ave. His Funeral Service will be held Tuesday at 9:30 AM in Spiritus Christi Church, 121 N. Fitzhugh St. Interment, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
