Rochester - On Thursday, October 22, 2020, Gary, a loving husband, father and grandfather, passed on at 75 years of age. Born October 6, 1945 in Rochester, Gary was the youngest child of Garnard Wemett Sr and Marian Leberth who predeceased him. He was also predeceased by his son, Lucas.
Gary is survived by his wife of 31 years, Sue Vetter Wemett daughter Katie Wemett and grandson Nathan Wemett. He is also survived by his former wife Marilyn Netchke, their daughter Michelle Catalano (Dan DiSanto), granddaughters Nikki Catalano and Eliza DiSanto; brother Harvey (Nancy); nephews Jon and Josh; Wollschleger cousins; many other cousins and dear friends.
Gary was well known and loved in the Rochester area First Responder community having worked in EMS and fire service for 54 years with Medical Labs Ambulance, Walters Ambulance, Laurelton Fire Department, National Ambulance, Monroe Ambulance and Holley Volunteer Fire Department.
Calling hours will be held Wednesday, October 28, 5pm to 7pm at Newcomer Cremations and Funerals, 2636 Ridgeway Avenue.
Contributions in Gary's name may be made to the Humane Society at Lollypop Farm, 99 Victor Rd., Fairport 14450, any volunteer fire department or ambulance corps, or the charity of your choice.
