Williamson/ Webster, NY

Gary “Coach” Raymond Clark, age 83, beloved husband, father, brother, uncle and Papa died on October 27, 2024. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Born on November 2, 1940 in Oneonta, NY, Gary is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Nancy and his children Joyce Clark (partner, David Kortz), Brian Clark (spouse Valerie), Barbara Zembiec (spouse David) and Joan Pulver (spouse Terry).

Gary is also survived by his stepchildren James Rogers (spouse Tina), Christine Sebastian (spouse John), Cheryl Hoysic (spouse Luke) and Bridgette Chasko (spouse Jerry).

Gary’s immediate family included his brothers Larry (spouse Mary), Ron (partner Gail Gangidine), and youngest brother, Bob, (spouse Evelyn).

Gary was blessed to have many grandchildren and great grandchildren who he loved immensely.

Gary was a coach of football, basketball, track and field, cross country—and his most beloved sport--wrestling. He was a physical education teacher in the Franklin Central School District and in the Williamson Central School District where he also served as the Athletic Director. He devoted many hours to the students and community of Williamson. Gary retired from teaching in 1994.

Gary also known as “Coach” by family and friends was an avid fan of sporting events and could be routinely heard cheering, “Go Bills!” In his retirement Gary and his devoted wife traveled frequently. He enjoyed being outside, hiking in the Adirondack Mountains and was an avid gardener.

Above all else, Gary loved his family. He made spending time with family a priority and often mentioned his deep admiration for their accomplishments.

The family would like to thank the many people who cared for Gary and traveled to see him in his final days. Those who were fortunate to have known him will remember his fun-loving ways and sincere dedication to family.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Hildebrandt Hospice Care Center, 2652 Ridgeway Ave., Rochester, NY 14626 or Lifespan 1900 South Clinton Avenue Rochester, NY 14618.
