George L. Davis Jr “Buck” (93) passed away peacefully on November 7, 2024, at the VA Nursing Home in Batavia NY. He was born in Rochester, NY on September 13, 1931, to Mr. & Mrs. George (Doris) L. Davis Sr. He was raised in East Rochester, NY. and graduated from high school there in June 1949. After high school, Buck worked as a drill press operator making automobile parts until he enlisted into the United States Air Force serving from 1950-1954. While serving our country, Staff Sargent Davis worked as an Electrician on various U.S Government Aircraft while stationed at Reese AFB in Lubbock Texas. During his enlistment, Buck received the National Defense Service and Good Conduct Medals. After the service, he attended multiple trade schools and while residing in Miami-Dade County Florida in the 1970’s, Buck returned to work for the Air Force as a civilian mechanic at Homestead AFB. When relocating back to Rochester in the mid 1980’s, he worked for Hoffman’s and Perk Development until his retirement. Buck was a kind soul and had many hobbies that included growing vegetables, hunting, fishing, NASCAR racing and working on vehicles and his boats. He was a “jack of all trades” kind of guy who could fix and complete any project you gave him. He truly enjoyed spending time in the Adirondacks camping and fishing on 7th Lake with family and friends.

Buck was predeceased by both of his parents, his sister Barbara, his ex-wife Audrey Davis and cousin-in-law Richard Manning. He is survived by his sons Robert Moak (Sandra Wilson) and Darren (Daphane) Moak, three grandchildren Melissa (Steven), Shane and Laura Moak and four great grandchildren, Riley, Josslyn, Hunter and Damien. He will be fondly remembered by many other family members, Gail Butler, Bryan Manning, Susan (Jerry) Manning, Michelle (Martin) Wallace and family, Richard Manning Jr., Jeannette (Gregory) Briceland and Family, Jeremy (Jessica) Manning and Family, and Jessica (Jason) and Family.

The family is planning a private service to celebrate Bucks life at a later date. Donations in his name can be sent to Veterans Home at Batavia, 220 Richmond Avenue, Batavia, New York 14020.
