Passed peacefully April 1, 2017, at age 97, four days shy of his 98th birthday. He was predeceased by his brothers, William & Frank Zubert. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 66 years, MaryCatherine; daughters, Debra (Brian) Schomske, Linda (Robert) Locke; grandchildren, Brian (Cassie) Schomske, Jason Schomske, Travis Schomske, Patrick (Carmen) Locke, Daniel Locke, Christopher Locke, Michael Locke; great-grandchildren, Drake, Matthew & Kyle Schomske; nephews, Thomas & James Zubert; sisters-in-law, Sandra Shields, Elaine (Donald) Derrenbacher.
George was a U.S. Army Veteran who proudly served his country during WWII.
The family will receive friends Monday, April 10th from 4-7 PM at the New Comer Funeral Home, 2636 Ridgeway Ave. George's Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday at 9:30 AM at Our Mother of Sorrows Church, 5000 Mt. Read Blvd. Entombment, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider contributions to Disabled American Veterans.
