Born on May 11, 1928 in Toronto, Canada, Grace Katherine Roberts was the daughter of Wilbert and Mary (Tate) Best. She excelled at all her scholarly endeavors, becoming the top student in Toronto high schools before leaving to help support the family. Grace married David Stedman Roberts of Watertown April 7, 1950. The young couple resided in Canada before they moved to Rochester in 1952, where Grace was a homemaker who tirelessly cared for and raised six children. She also worked at various times to help support their family and in the family-owned business in later years.
Grace was a faithful and dedicated member of a congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses wherever she lived, most recently at the South Fairport Congregation, where much of her family still attends. She loved baking, sewing, crosswords, traveling and was considered a Scrabble Ace by her family.
Predeceased by her parents, siblings Marjorie (John) Ross and Gordon Best, and her husband David Roberts. Grace is survived by her six children and their spouses, David "Jay" Roberts, Dale (Charlene) Roberts, Debra (Robert) Wilbur, Lori Rizzo, Scott (Sheryl) Roberts, Nancy Roberts (Jess Biller). She is also survived by ten grandchildren, David C Roberts, Jacob Rizzo, Jill Rizzo Budd, Robert Wilbur III, Jessica Kammer, Michael Wilbur, Julie Scarano, Heather Redling, Brittney Roberts, Courtney Roberts; twelve great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
A memorial service will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses at 1344 Mosley Rd (Rte 250), Victor, NY 14564, on July 16th, 2022. Video starts at 2:30pm, the talk starts at 3:00pm. The service will be broadcast simultaneously on zoom, please contact a family member for the link.
Grace was beloved by her family and all who knew her, and honored to have three great-granddaughters graced with her name.
