Henry Drury

Passed away on January 1st 2021 at age 82 from complications of Covid-19.

Henry grew up on Belmeade Road in Irondequoit and attended Irondequoit high school. After graduating, he worked briefly for the Red and White grocery store before making the US Navy his career. During the Vietnam War, his ship saw action in the Gulf of Tonkin. While in the Navy, he married his first wife had seven children. After retiring from the Navy, he moved his family to Cohocton NY and joined the Eastman Kodak Co. as an electrician but the long hours and long commute were stressful on his family and resulted in divorce and his brief stay at the Canandaigua VA Hospital. Upon recovery, he took employment at the Federal Building in Rochester as an electrical maintenance engineer. He moved on from there to employment in the correctional facility at the Industry Residential Center in Scottsville NY and became the computer systems administrator a position from which he ultimately retired. While working at the Federal building he met and married his second and beloved wife Joan with whom he enjoyed a long and happy life until her passing in 2019.

In life, Henry truly enjoyed bible study and history, reading was a passion.

He is survived by his children, Henry Jr., Jeffery, Allen, Patrick, Roxane, Kim, Ursula; siblings, Diane Vasconez & Susan Buzzetta both of Georgia, Donald Drury of Sodus and Richard Drury of Canandaigua. Henry is also survived by 2 stepdaughters, Cindy Forsythe, Jackie Forsythe and predeceased by step-daughter, Patricia Davis; along with many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was our Papa and he will be greatly missed.
